Bethlehem Soccer Club recently announced a new club affiliation program with HEX FC.

HEX FC’s boys and girls teams participate in the highest levels of play in the country including the ECNL, ECNL-Regional League, and USYS National League competitions. HEX FC will be based out of three Eastern Pennsylvania geographic regions including the Lehigh Valley.

 

This marks an exciting chapter for our club, as joining forces with other affiliate clubs and HEX FC promises immense benefits for BSC’s future.

 

So, what does this mean for BSC? Here are some key details to consider:

 

HEX FC is exclusively focused on elite/select teams aged U13 and above. Rest assured, all our teams (U12 and below) will remain with Bethlehem Soccer Club with a continued focus on the development of the player and team. However, when the transition to 11v11 (U13) comes around, BSC players and families - who seek more opportunities for higher competition levels and are prepared to commit to the additional costs and time required - will now have the opportunity to try out for the higher level HEX FC teams in early spring.

 

It's essential to note that HEX FC is not in the business of "stealing players." There is no formal obligation for kids to try out for HEX FC. Instead, this affiliation offers a pathway for those players and families who desire to compete at a higher level in the longterm without severing ties to BSC.

 

It also provides BSC the opportunity to work with other local Lehigh Valley HEX FC affiliate clubs (Southern Lehigh, Parkland, and Keystone Athletic) to provide U13 and older teams at the EDP and Inter-County League levels moving forward. We anticipate these tryouts to occur later in the spring following the HEX FC tryouts.

 

We're excited about the support that HEX FC will provide at all age levels. They offer comprehensive training and academy support for all age groups below U13. If we are interested, our families can take advantage of these resources. It's an opportunity for younger players to satisfy their thirst for elevated training and further their progress without committing to higher-priced clubs at younger ages.

 

By collaborating with HEX FC, we can address one of the more challenging aspects of smaller clubs: player retention as they transition to 11 v 11. This affiliation grants us access to a larger pool of players, facilitating team continuity as our players mature, and access to a larger pool of players to replace kids who make the higher-level HEX FC teams.

 

This affiliation creates a clear path for our young athletes to play at a higher level longterm without having to leave our club before U13. Talented players no longer need to look elsewhere for opportunities. Instead, they can see a viable progression within our club to some of the highest levels of soccer. This player pathway from BSC’s U6 Academy all the way up to HEX FC’s U13-U19 ECNL teams will benefit every player associated with BSC.
